Once Semester Grades are Posted you will want to Review your Academic Plan and Goals

By now you should have met with an academic advisor to map out course selection for next semester and beyond, and hopefully registered for those classes.  Final Grades for this semester will be posted to your HUB Student Center by the first week or early second week of January 2020.

Evaluating your Academic Plan

Once your final grades have been posted, it is wise to review your results using your HUB Academic Advising Report (HUB Training Guide – Viewing your Academic Advisement Report) to see then how your are progressing with respect to completion of UB Curriculum areas, and with respect to progress in completion of Acceptance Criteria requirements for your major.  Each major has course completion and grade point average baselines that you must minimally meet.  If your are not meeting those baselines, then it is time to personally exam what you need to do differently and or think about a different major.  In either case you will want to discuss your thoughts and ideas with an academic advisor during the semester break. We advise not to wait until the beginning of the semester, as class availability may be much reduced.

If your are an Undecided student, do know how to run a What-if Report?

If you are not coded as the major you are working toward, you will want to run a HUB What-if Report for that major to see your courses applied to that major. If you do not know how to select a HUB What-if Report refer to the  HUB Training Guide – How to create a HUB What-if Report.

If your Semester or Overall GPA is below 2.00, you are not in Good Academic Standing

Your final grades are posted to your HUB Student Center at a specified time range after the conclusion of the Final Exam Period (refer to Registrar – Grades). If you do not understand UB’s Grading System refer to the Undergraduate Catalog – Explanation of Grades.

If your UB Semester GPA and or your UB Overall GPA is below a 2.00, then you are not in Good Academic Standing (Refer to Undergraduate Catalog – Academic Standards Review), you will want to speak with an academic advisor as soon as possible.  A student who is not in Good Academic Standing may not be eligible to participate in extra curricular activities.  Not being in being in Good Academic Standing may also impact a student’s eligibility  to receive financial aid.

Your Plan and Financial Aid and Scholarship Eligibility

If you receive financial aid and or a scholarship, you will want to ensure that you are minimally meeting the Financial Aid Eligibility requirements. If you are not meet this criteria you may not be eligible for next semester or future aid (depending on your Financial Aid Package),  you must speak with a financial aid advisor over winter break.
