Before you resign from a course you should speak with an advisor, refer to body text

The Last Day to Resign a 15-week Standard Session course

The last day to Resign a 15-week Standard Session course will be Friday, November 9, 2018 by 11:59 p.m.

Before you Resign a Course discuss implications with…

Academic Advisor

An Academic Advisor will ask questions to understand your reasons for resigning a course.  In some instances this will lead to a discussion of choosing a different major.

An Academic Advisor can show you the Course Repeat Policy, and see if the course you want to resign is on the Course Enrollment Control Policy.

An Academic Advisor can explain how resigning a course may require that you register for that class in Summer or Winter term, and or how it might add an extra semester to complete your degree.

You can find your assigned Advising Office in the Advisor Box on your HUB Student Center. You can also find contact information on the Undergraduate Advising Directory.

Financial Aid Advisor

If you receive financial aid, hopefully you understand the criteria that you will need to attain in order to maintain your financial aid eligibility. If you do not know this, then you should schedule a meeting with a financial aid advisor. You can arrange a meeting by calling the Financial Aid Office at 716-645-8232.

Resigning a course may have a negative impact upon you financial aid.(Satisfactory Academic Progress [SAP], TAP Award, Excelsior Scholarship).  To determine impact go to 1Capen and request to speak with a financial aid advisor.

International Student Advisor

If you are an international student, you must be registered for at least 12.0 credit hours. If you are thinking about resigning from a class, and the result is that you are enrolled in less than 12.0 credit hours, you must go to the International Student Services Office at 210 Talbert Hall, 716-645-2258.
