Last day to Resign from 15-week Standard Session

The last day to resign from a 15-week Standard Session Course is Friday, April 19, 2019 by 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Before resigning a course:

  • Student should discuss with course instructor
  • Student should speak with an academic advisor to discuss the pros and cons of resigning a course.
  • Student should consider if h/she will need to register for the course in a future semester. If so, then h/she will want to see if the course is listed among the Course Enrollment Control List.  If it is, then a student may need to repeat during a Summer or Winter Session.

How to Resign a Course

Students electing to Resign from a course will log into their HUB Student Center.

  1. In the HUB Academic section they will select Enroll link.
  2. They will next be asked to select the semester, or session, for which they want to resign a course.
  3. For the selected semester, a student will now see a listing of all of the courses in which they are registered. Next to each course there will be a check box. Select the course to be resigned.
  4. Click the Drop Selected Classes button.
  5. Click the Finish Dropping button.
  6. To confirm that the course has been dropped, go to the HUB Academic section and click the View My Grades link.
  7. Select the appropriate semester/session and find the course. In the Grade Column, you will see that an “R” is listed.  A resigned course does not have a grade point value, and therefore is not used in the calculation of your grade point average (gpa).
  8. If you receive financial aid, a resigned course will be used in the calculation of a student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  9. Before you resign a course, and if you receive financial aid, discuss implications of resigning a course upon your financial aid eligibility.  Go to 1Capen and ask to speak with the next available financial aid advisor.

Fall Semester Class Registration will soon begin. Do you know which courses you will take?

Graphic announcing that FAll 2019 Course registration will be gin soo. Refer to body text for details

Finding the Date and Time when you can begin to register for Fall 2019 classes

To find your specific Enrollment Date and Time look at your HUB Enrollment Dates box. The start time for all Fall 2019 registration dates will be 7:00 a.m. EDT.

Which courses do you need to take next semester?

Two resources that will help you plan and manage your academic path are the Undergraduate Catalog, and the HUB Academic Requirements Report. From these resources you will be able to determine which courses can be used to satisfy Degree Requirements, and the courses and grade point averages required for a major.

Who can help you plan your schedule?

To find your currently assigned Advising Office go the your HUB Advising box.  An advisor can show you how to become familiar with the Undergraduate Catalog.  They can also explain how to read your HUB Academic Requirements Report, and how to select your Thematic and Global Pathway courses using the UB Curriculum Pathfinder Tool. Additionally an advisor can show you how to use the HUB Schedule Builder and Enrollment Shopping Cart functions.

An advisor can also show you where to find your Mid-term and Final Grades via the HUB My Grades function. In addition to looking at individual grades, they will also use the HUB Academic Requirements Report or run a HUB What-If Report to determine your grades point averages for a given major.
