The next time you log into your HUB Student Center, you will notice a new box on the right hand side of the page:  Milestones Box.

Currently the Milestone Box is only listing four Milestone categories from the UB Curriculum:  Capstone, Foundation, Pathways, and UB Seminar. There are four Milestone Status statements: Not Started, In Progress, Completed, and Ineligible.

If you are a new student, some of your classes may work toward satisfying a UB Curriculum (UBC) area.  The UB Curriculum Areas are:

  • UB Seminar (must be taken in your first semester at UB)
  • UBC FoundationsCommunication Literacy sequence (two courses). Most first semester first year students will satisfy the Communication Literacy 1 requirement by taking ENG 105.  After a student has completed the Communication Literacy 1 requirement, they can then take a course from the Communication Literacy 2 listing (this should be done in consultation with an academic advisor).
  • Foundations:  Mathematical & Quantitative Reasoning (one course)
  • Foundations:  Scientific Literacy and Inquiry (Two lectures and one associated lab from Approved List)
  • Foundations:  Diversity Learning (one course)
  • Pathways use the Pathfinder Tool to select three courses to satisfy a specific Thematic Pathway, and three different courses to satisfy a specific Global Pathway.
  • UBC Capstone taken in the semester in which you are finishing your last UB Curriculum course.  Typically taken in either the second-semester of Junior year or the first-semester of Senior year.

There are currently four Milestone disignations: In Progress; Completed, Not Started, and Ineligible(Click image to view in full screen)

You will use the HUB Academic Requirements report to plan and track your progress toward completing University Degree Requirements.  You will start using it in your first semester, and continue each semester thereafter to refer to it to determine your progress toward:

  • Meeting Acceptance Criteria for your major
  • Completing all requirements for your major
  • Satisfying UBC areas
  • Meeting or exceeding criteria as detailed in the University Degree Requirements section

When you File for Graduation, Degree Auditors from the Office of the Register will use the Academic Requirements report to start the review process to determine if you meet all University Degree Requirements.

You will track your progress toward completing all Degree Requirements using the HUB My Requirements report
