Credit Hours and Full-Time Status

Undergraduate students must be registered for 12 or more credits to be considered full-time; students registered for less than 12 credits are considered part-time. In order to graduate in 4 years, students should take an average of 15 credits per semester. Students can register for a maximum of 19 credits during the fall and spring semesters.

Financial aid eligibility may have additional requirements.

  1. From your HUB Student Center, print out a copy of your Class Schedule.
  2. Highlight Course Abbreviation, Number, and Section.  Ex: PSY 101LEC GTG
  3. Go to University at Buffalo North Campus Bookstore Website, and click on the Find Your Textbooks link

The course syllabus serves as a contract between the student and professor regarding course expectations and policies. The course syllabus should clearly communicate what the instructor expects of students and what students can expect from the instructor.

A course syllabus must be finalized and distributed to the class during the first week of classes.

All course syllabi should include, but are not limited to, the following components:

  • Course Description
  • Student Learning Outcomes
  • Academic Content
  • Grading Policy
  • Office Hours
  • Academic Integrity
  • Course Fees
  • Accessibility Resources
  • Controlled Enrollment Courses
